Whispering Angel Rosé: The Elegance of Provence in Every Sip
Most rosés that line store shelves these days are made by winemakers inspired by the traditional techniques of Provence vignerons. This one however, is actually made in Provence– and with so much attention to craftsmanship that it justifies why French-made pink wine will always be the preferred source for rosé.
The Craftsmanship Behind Whispering Angel Rose Wine
Produced by Château d'Esclans, every bottle of Whispering Angel Rose Wine is produced at the heart of Provence, a region famed for its high-quality rosé wines. When the Château was purchased by Sacha Lichine in 2006, he had one goal: to create the world’s greatest rosé. It was then that Whispering Angel was introduced and quickly catapulted the estate to fame.
Its rapid success wasn’t too surprising given the level of care that goes into the production of each bottle. For instance, Château d'Esclans sources its grapes only from the finest vineyards in the Esclans Valley and nearby Côtes de Provence region. True, every other French vineyard can claim the same thing, so they take this a step further by only harvesting at night so the grapes are never exposed to the heat of the day.
They employ a meticulous selection process called Optical Eye Sorting technology to make sure only the best grapes are used for production. That process involves soft crushing and temperature control to maintain the freshness and vivacity of the grapes. The wine is then fermented and aged in temperature controlled, 100% stainless steel tanks.

Whispering Angel Rose Wine Review
Arguably, the initial draw for most rosés is the color–the pale pink hue implies an experience that is light and delicate. Its taste promises to be subtle but flavorful. But most of all, it’s wonderfully Instagrammable.
Still, any Whispering Angel Rose wine review will harp on these distinct qualities: its bright and fresh flavor. Whispering Angel Rose features dominant notes of strawberry, watermelon, with a delicate hint of rose petal. The aroma is an intricate blend of citrus, floral, and herbal notes that’s almost like perfume. At first sip, mellow citrus swirls with young strawberry before punctuating the experience with a gentle hint of creamsicle.
Whispering Angel has an elegant dryness that lends to its crisp mouthfeel, and long, clean finish that lingers on the palate. And while it’s a perennial summer favorite, the flavors are so expertly balanced and light that it's perfectly suitable for various occasions.
The Beach Rose Wine by Whispering Angel
If you’re familiar with The Palm Rose wine by Whispering Angel then you’ll be very familiar with this one.
The Beach Rose Wine by Whispering Angel is touted as the playful “little sister” to the flagship product. Like Whispering Angel Rose, it’s sourced from vineyards in Côteaux d’Aix-en-Provence but it’s crafted from a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, and Syrah.
On the nose, you get a fresh aroma with notes of red berries, lime, and melon. The palate stays true to its heritage and offers a smooth and well-balanced showcase of citrus and red fruit flavors, with a slight hint of minerality.
The Beach Rose Wine is casual, light, laid-back–all the hallmarks of a good Provence rosé.
Château d'Esclans Rock Angel Rosé by Whispering Angel
Château d'Esclans Rock Angel Rosé is known for its richer and more complex profile.
This wine is produced from a blend of Grenache and Rolle grapes, sourced from select vineyards in Provence. It also produces a fuller body of flavor, which is enhanced by partial aging in large oak barrels, that ultimately leads to a well-structured finish.
The addition of the aging process in oak adds a subtle but distinct creaminess to the combination of ripe red fruits and citrus used to craft the wine. The goal? To explore a more robust and nuanced rosé that will inevitably become a versatile addition to any dinner table.
